Is the quality of your broadband service that your currently receiving elsewhere not up to scratch? Don't worry yourself! Just like a normal dial-up service, with broadband you can easily move your connection to another Service Provider.

Following recent trials, Business 1st is pleased to inform customers that the Service Provider to Service Provider migration solution has been launched.

This enables end users to migrate broadband connections from other Service Providers and take advantage of what Business 1st has to offer without the need to terminate and reinstall the service, a task which in the past would mean a loss of service for a good few weeks, not any more!

So how does it work?
The migration process to follow from launch is outlined below:

1. We at Business 1st confirm with you the type of broadband connection your currently using, be it a BTStream Home or Office, BT IPStream 500 or BT IPStream S series customer

2. We then obtain your Customer Service ID (CBUK Number) from your current service provider or directly from you and then complete what is called a 'Migration CRF' and send this off to BTWholesale on your behalf.

3. BT will then send an e-mail to your old service provider, informing them that we have received a request to migrate one of their end users to us.

4. Your old service provider will then have 10 working days in which to respond. If they agree to the request the migration order will be processed. If no response is received, or if the losing service provider challenges the migration request, the order will be cancelled.

5. If the process is successful Business 1st will pass on to the customer the standard £35+vat admin fee imposed by BTWholesale for the migration to Business 1st.

6. Any outstanding minimum term resulting from the contractual relationship between BT Wholesale and your old Service Provider, will be transferred to Business 1st. However, it may be the case that you are still within minimum term with regard of their contract with your old Service Provider and may therefore still be liable for any early termination charges levied by them.
